Not my first Saju90 critique, nor will it be my last. Her work is generally fabulous and beyond reproach and I enjoy it thoroughly.
That said, there are occasional missteps. Not to say, necessarily, that this particular photograph qualifies, but there are certain elements I found...jarring.
First of all, I must speak of the Vision and Originality of this piece. I can totally see what the artist(s) was trying to do here - combining a still shot with a model-movement shot in one frame is a very original idea and the vision it takes to come up with the concept is quite good. With different execution, this might be a great technique. I really think the high-contrast monochromatic scheme is brilliant here. Saju's body has a lot of dynamism, allowing for very subtle chiaroscuro effects along her abdomen in particular.
Now, on to the other part While the idea is there, I think the execution suffers. The technique is not solidly done in such a way that it looks different from, say, the model controlling a sneeze mid-shot. If her face was as crisply focused as her core, with the hair the only dynamic and blurred portion, this might have worked better.
Overall, I think it's a great idea with lackluster execution. As an experiment, it is a success. Now to refine it!
First Off I Love It!!!! The Choice Of Clothing Mixed With The Pearls, And How sexy her hair is - It's Just Perfection, Love The Lighting, And Her Pose Is Perfect - Sensual, Without Being To Sexy! Great Job!
